This year’s Association of the European Self-Medication Industry, AESGP, Regulatory Conference was opened by recently-appointed director general Jurate Svarcaite, followed by deputy director general Maud Perrudin, who pointed out that it was a “time of uncertainty” for the European consumer healthcare industry.

Noting the significance of the conference’s location, in the Dutch capital Amsterdam, where the European Medicines Agency had moved to in the last few weeks as a consequence of the UK’s decision to exit the EU, she urged industry to nevertheless “try to embrace the changes
