The presence of formaldehyde releaser DMDM hydantoin in TRESemme Keratin shampoos pose undisclosed risks of hair loss and/or scalp irritation, as shown by hundreds of consumer complaints online, plaintiffs allege in proposed class actions filed in Illinois and New Jersey federal courts.

Since 2013 or earlier, “hundreds if not thousands” of consumers have complained about hair loss, scalp irritation and other adverse events after using TRESemme Keratin shampoos, yet Unilever Home & Personal Care USA has failed to adequately warn consumers about potential risks, plaintiffs say in proposed US class actions.
