Consumer health giant Haleon has welcomed the European Union’s proposed revision to the region’s packaging regulations as part of its efforts to reach net zero by 2050.

Haleon says it “supports the overall ambitions” of the European Commission’s proposals for a new Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste, but has “serious concerns” about the timelines established in the proposal, for example that all medicines packaging should be recyclable by 2035.
