The Federal Trade Commission will hear criticism that it’s doing both not enough and too little in a proposed rule to reduce advertisers’ guesswork over whether consumer product reviews during an online meeting on 13 February.

The speakers scheduled for the FTC “informal hearing” from 10 am to noon eastern time include Fake Review Watch, an advocacy group which says it’s “dedicated to exposing the massive corruption of online consumer review platforms,” and two University of California Davis
