New York Begins Restricting Sales Of Supplements, OTC Drugs For Weight Loss, Bodybuilding

Court Rejects Temporary Restraining Order, But Agrees CRN Has Standing To Contest Law

Southern New York district judge rejects CRN’s arguments to block regulation from taking effect, but agrees with trade group and its members that they have standing to challenge the regulation. CRN complaint challenging law will continue in the district court.

Age restrictions on sales of dietary supplements and OTC drugs containing ingredients labeled or promoted for weight loss and bodybuilding benefits are in effect in New York, a law the US consumer health products industry fears will encourage similar regulations in other states.
