California animal testing
Bill prohibiting use of animal tests when validated alternatives are available is signed by Gov. Gray Davis (D) Sept. 18. The measure passed the California Assembly Aug. 28 and was approved by the Senate May 25 (1"The Rose Sheet" Sept. 4, In Brief and 2June 5, In Brief). SB 2082, introduced by Sen. Jack O'Connell (D-Santa Barbara) Feb. 25, amended a stricter version opposed by CTFA (3"The Rose Sheet" May 8, p. 10)
