Should California DTSC's Work Plan Continue To Prioritize Personal Care? Comment Invited

Salon products within the larger Beauty, Personal Care and Hygiene category have been of keen interest to California's Department of Toxic Substances Control as it considers possible Priority Products for alternative analyses under the state's Safer Consumer Products regulation. DTSC seeks public input on a work plan for 2018-2020, which could dictate whether personal care remains an area of focus.

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control is accepting comments through Nov. 6 to inform development of its next work plan for evaluating product categories under the state's Safer Consumer Products regulation.

France's food safety regulator ANSES is proposing a reproductive toxicity category 1B classification for CBD under the EU's CLP regulation, which would mean an effective ban on CBD in cosmetics and foods. However, French hemp industry association UIVEC hopes that new evidence coming out of a European Commission review will put the issue to bed before it gets that far.
