Private-Equity Investors Poised To Acquire Nestlé Skin Health, Promising US Expansion

After working hard to turnaround its troubled Skin Health dermatology operation, Nestlé looks set to offload the business to a consortium of private-equity buyers. The consortium - led by EQT - have identified expansion in the US consumer health market as an immediate priority.

Nestle SA is poised to exit the dermatology market after entering “exclusive negotiations” with a private-equity consortium led by EQT AB to divest its Skin Health operation for CHF10.2bn ($10.1bn).

The purchase price represents 3.6-times Skin Health's 2018 sales, which advanced at a “mid-single digit” rate to CHF2.8 billion, following what Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider hailed as a “stunning” turnaround
