Nicolas Hieronimus, who joined L’Oreal SA in 1987 as product manager and was named deputy CEO in charge of divisions in May 2017, will be CEO of the company as of 1 May 2021, according to the firm’s 14 October announcement. Current CEO Jean-Paul Agon, who is approaching the firm’s legal retirement age of 65 years, will continue as chairman, while Barbara Lavernos, recently appointed president of research, innovation and technologies, will assume the deputy CEO role.
