PFAS Testing Standards Under Development As US States Crack Down On Use

ASTM International is developing standards for PFAS in consumer products through a new sub-committee, which will provide guidance on how to prepare and analyze a wide variety of consumer product samples for PFAS.

As California and other states pass legislation to ban use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in cosmetics and other products, ASTM International announces it is creating standards for industry and other stakeholders to analyze the presence of PFAS in consumer products.

The international standards developer says the new standards will be developed by a new subcommittee (F15.81) operating under the jurisdiction of its Consumer Products Committee (F15)
