The US Federal Trade Commission cites the emergence of AI chatbots as one of many reasons it should move forward “expeditiously” with its proposed rule to eradicate fake reviews and testimonials online and pose civil penalties on violators.
“It has been reported that an AI chatbot is being used to create fake reviews. As the reporting notes, the widespread emergence of AI chatbots is likely to make it easier for bad actors to write fake reviews,” the FTC notes in its 30 June
