The US Federal Trade Commission’s approach to consumer protection over the past five years has become a go-to playbook for federal and state policymakers in their efforts to combat deceptive online practices, says Sam Levine, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.

“I have never seen consumer protection as much on the national agenda as it is today,” Levine said at the BBB National Program Inc.’s National Advertising Division Annual Conference in New York 16-17 September
