Artificial intelligence, used today by cosmetics and personal-care brands for marketing, e-commerce and product design, is advancing at a rapid clip, but industry must bear in mind that Federal Trade Commission rules on consumer protection and US copyright rules largely have not changed.

Stacy Marcus, a partner in Reed Smith LLP’s Entertainment and Media Industry Group, addressed legal risks surrounding AI use in an interview with HBW Insight.

Electronic product information should be “fully operational” within four years after the entry into force of the revised EU pharma legislation and should precede the phasing out of paper leaflets, proposes the Inter-Association Taskforce (IATF) on ePI.
